People want to control the actions of others and make them follow their own beliefs and values and morals.

Both the political Left and Right try to control what others do….. Conservatives who want people to be free, but then want to restrict abortion.
Liberals who say they want people to be free, but then mandate vaccines and and try to push their morality on you….(?)
