Prologue

The Dream, the Great Story, the Story of the Soul. The King who drinks the potion of forgetfulness and falls asleep, is exiled from the kingdom and “wakes up” outside the sacred city’s walls….

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away….

The Universal Mythic Story of the Fall of Man, the dark dream of evil/darkness/separation/fear, The Prologue: the fall of Sophia, the fall of Lucifer and the stone that fell from his diadem and became lost and buried in the Earth.

Before Birth: the state of the Realm

The Fall of the Tower - the fall from a previous Golden Age. Poisoning of the Wells - the sacred purity has been defiled. The Wounding of the King - the noble and righteous true King has been wounded, is sick, is imprisoned. The World fallen under the spell of darkness, the blight of evil, death, decay, meaninglessness, control, fear, …. The heart, love, spirit, divinity is gone and missing - it is a cold, cruel, harsh world of survival. The Realm is under control of a dark regime ….. - yet possibly the people don’t even realize, they themselves are brainwashed and conditioned and hypnotized into belief, obedience,…. People have forgotten the Song, forgotten who and what they are - have become seduced under a spell of hypnotism - have become purely material and powerless… The people and realm are enslaved by a dark force, dark spell, a loss of the sacred….

Prophecies of the Messiah, the Once and Future King, a Savior the people pray will come. Preparation for the Chosen One - a certain group makes preparations for one who will come. They have guidance and prophesies. A remnant of a remnant exists that holds to the ancient tradition and seeks to keep the flame of the lineage alive, keep remembrance of the lost and forgotten civilization and it’s knowledge alive for a future age of remembrance and awakening. An ancient secret, occult lineage exists that is thought to be mere fantasy, that is thought to have died out long ago….

This occult mystery school group endures through centuries and generations until the timing is right for the savior, the messiah to incarnate and fulfill the scriptures… First a forerunner is born who prepares the Way. John the Baptist who speaks with fire and baptizes with water.

Incarnation

Magnum Opus: The Great Work - the mission and purpose with which you incarnated into this body and life. Doing and fulfilling your special function. And ultimately the Magnum Opus is one thing: completing the Atonement, fully embodying Christ.

Forgetfulness: Childhood under ignorance. He begins in poverty and ignorance and powerlessness - but he gradually starts to become more powerful and more aware.

The fallen world, Kali Yuga, Iron Age of consciousness. The world is a Wasteland largely devoid of Truth, Beauty, Goodness, Spirit. Born into slavery, poverty, …. Born into a certain culture and “reality” and coming into awareness within that milleiu, becoming naturally conformed to the culture of your parents and society-yet being in rebellion against it’s conditions and limitations….

The Collective Human Story and One’s Place In It. The Core Wound - the root drive. The wounds and traumas and karmas and samskaras of parents, family, soul group, your past lives/alternate soul incarnations,……..

The young hero struggling to survive, feeling that something is missing, seeking and searching for truth/meaning, following inner intuition and call, finding hints and clues that lead to next thing….. Seeking but not even knowing what you are seeking….

There was once a majestic Temple that was the home and center of the people’s spiritual life - but it was destroyed, it was rebuilt but not nearly as well and that too was destroyed. Now people are hoping and praying that someday the prophecies will be fulfilled and the 3rd Temple will be built… The Sacred has been desecrated and removed from the people and the society.

Realizes that people are asleep, are living in fear and ego and ignorance…. Realizes that there are archons - rulers, forces and powers that work through humans to keep the status quo, to keep the soul of man asleep and imprisoned. Realizes that magic is real, that the world is not what it appears to be and people think it is - that this world is an illusion, a simulation - it is not The Real World.

Through the confusion of tongues and religions and philosophies and ideologies, he begins to discern a path of Light….

Learning the basic essential knowledge. Learning the Lore of one’s lineage, of the world, of the story. Learning the mythic-historical backstory of the world and the people that has led to this situation. Learning the religion, the Way, the Life, the Truth…. Learning The Tradition.

The War of the Sons of Light Against the Sons of Darkness - the ancient war against the forces of Evil. The Dark Lord - the Demiurge, Evil Sorcerer,…. The Tablets of the Law - learning and following the basic rule and path of the tradition. The Ark of the Covenant - a mythical lost item of power and sacredness - something for the hero to seek….

Trials and Tribulations - experiences and lessons: Trials of the Knight. Training, Practice, Education: The School of Time.

He meets a old wizard guide who trains him and teaches him in the ways of magic, in lore, in the key things to know and become.

He must solve a riddle, - such as the riddle of the sphinx. The riddle of his own being and his own destiny and of the nature and truth of Life itself….

Dark Night of the Mind.

He realizes that he is all powerful as the divine child of God, as the chosen one, the Christ. He taps into his full divine power. He realizes the fundamental nature of darkness and light, of duality, of reality itself. He restores balance within himself and therefore within the reality. He slays the dark lord and restores the missing key. Victory is attained.

He journeys back home and restores the realm and land. Tending to your garden. Raising family, taking care of community, preparing heirs. Being a Partriarch of a Royal Lineage. Establishes round table and fellowship of disciple/knight/apprentices…

He is crowned King and sits on the throne and rules in righteousness, wisdom, love…. He marries the princess and she becomes Queen. He Fathers the true Royal line.

The Knight as Lost Royal (medieval romance motifs)

Several Grail-adjacent romances present heroes (e.g., Perceval, Parzival) as royal sons raised in the forest among peasants, ignorant of their birthright. Their entire quest is the return to the court and the recovery of their true identity.

Kabbalah: the King in Exile (Melekh be-Galut)

Lurianic Kabbalah describes the Shekhinah and the King as exiled in the “other side.” The King is present but unrecognized. Humanity restores the King through raising the sparks.

Sufi allegories of the Prince in Exile

In Rumi and Attar, the soul is a royal bird or prince who forgets its origin and becomes entrapped in the material world. Through remembrance (dhikr) it returns to the Beloved.

ACIM: the Son of God who fell asleep

The Son dreams a world of separation, forgets his identity, believes he is a mortal self, and must awaken to restore his Father’s Kingdom.

The King & The Potion of Forgetfulness

The king drinks a potion of forgetfulness and becomes or dreams that they are a peasant. They believe and therefore perceive that they are a poor orphaned peasant. They must go on a long journey of awakening and remembering(or anamnesis) to recover and restore their lost divine, royal nature, heritage, and station. At the end they have gone through the entire journey and recovered everything, but now they are much wiser and more experienced and humble and conscious. Now he has mastered and integrated all aspects of life and his soul and is truly a total sovereign master and monarch.

The King and the Potion of Forgetfulness a very deep and significant parable

You ARE that King who drinks the potion and forgets his true divine inheritance and thinks he is a penniless beggar who must scrounge for scraps in the muddy street.

Who can wake up at an time and realize who/what he really is. And can walk into the castle and announce himself

Myths of the Fall & Return

• The Descent of Inanna: The goddess descends through seven gates, is stripped, judged, killed, hung, and then restored. This is an early formulation of the descent-as-initiation pattern. The stripping at each gate parallels the progressive removal of false identity.
• Osiris and the Dismemberment Myth: Osiris is killed and dismembered; Isis recovers the pieces; resurrection occurs. Alchemy explicitly models its Solve–Coagula cycle on this sequence: fragmentation, recomposition, reconstitution, coronation.
• Dionysus Zagreus and the Titans: Dionysus is torn apart by the Titans; the fragments produce humanity; the heart is recovered and resurrection occurs. An account of the fall of the soul into matter, the scattering of the divine spark, and the need for re-collecting.
• The Neoplatonic Doctrine of the Soul’s Descent: Plotinus and Proclus present the soul as emanating from the One, descending into matter, forgetting its origin, and returning by recollection (anamnesis).

All essentially saying that the human soul/being has fallen from heaven/perfection and gotten stuck in/on the earth - but that through the alchemical/spiritual path one can heal the separation, find the light, reverse the fall, perfect the stone and therefore return back to heaven/divinity/perfection.

This is really what the whole story is all about. The key insight is a gnostic one, that this world isn't really real, that we are a sleeping and dreaming fallen angel, that the whole point of this game is to awaken and return to Reality, back to our rightful place as God's beloved Son....

The Archetypal Pattern:

1. A luminous, divine, or integrated state.
2. An act of separation, pride, error, or rebellion.
3. A descent, exile, forgetfulness, or fragmentation.
4. A world that is experienced as diminished, unreal, or distorted.
5. A path of purification, obedience, discipline, suffering, or initiation.
6. A helper or guide (angel, wizard, Sophia, Hermes, Holy Spirit).
7. A decisive ordeal involving death, dissolution, or confrontation with shadow.
8. A recovery of the lost essence (stone, heart, name, identity, light).
9. A return, resurrection, reintegration, or enthronement.
10. A transformation of the protagonist into a higher, wiser, perfected form.
11. A restoration of cosmic order.
12. Ascension/Translation up into the Heavenly Kingdom

1. A primordial Being of light exists in unity with the Creator
2. Through a mistaken thought, act of pride, or desire for separateness, the Being falls or is exiled into division, darkness….
3. The fall results in fragmentation, forgetfulness, and embodiment in a world that is not truly real.
4. This world is experienced as exile, limitation, or darkness.
5. The Being begins a long journey of remembering, purification, and initiation.
6. The path involves confronting shadow, integrating opposites, and recovering lost light.
7. Through guidance, ordeal, and inner work, the Being recovers knowledge of origin and identity.
8. The lost essence (stone, spark, name, emerald, sophic light) is restored. Ultimately the work is completed within.
9. The Being returns to unity, not as the naive innocence of the beginning, but as conscious mastery. He becomes a messenger, a teacher, a guide, an example….
10. The return of the Being heals the cosmos itself, because the microcosm and macrocosm are mirrors.

Lucifer’s Fall - the metaphysical origin of the exile: the movement from unity to separation, from Sonship to the ego-constructed self-identity.

Sophia’s Fall - the cosmic fragmentation: the emanation that exceeds its proper limit and becomes entrapped in its own projection.

The Shattering of the Vessels - the structural condition of the fallen world: consciousness scattered, sparks buried, matter as a container of trapped light.

The Fall of Adam - the psychological interiorization: the human mind choosing separation, knowledge without wisdom, and entering fear-based perception.

A Course in Miracles - the experiential reality: the entire world as the dream of separation, the Son as mistaken about his identity, the healing as undoing.
