“We may understand that alchemy, in any of its forms, can in fact be regarded as the foundation of the world’s mystery traditions which seek to unveil the hidden and utilise processes of transformation – a philosophia perennis. We can express its two main veins as Logos and Sophia, the higher mind and experience-based wisdom, which in their union bring gnosis or insight. The tradition conveys an experience-based knowledge about the triune relationship between God, humanity and nature, which microcosmically corresponds with the spirit, soul and body. Such knowledge about the matrix of creation and its exoteric and esoteric laws, will then allow the alchemist to both pray and work, ora & labora, for a transmutation, regeneration and refinement of creation. Seeing how the inner world corresponds with the outer world, the microcosm with the macrocosm, the alchemist can thus affect both, regardless in which kingdom or level of consciousness the opus is carried out.” - Alchemy – the divine work
