“Make friends with angels.” - Saint Augustine
Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the LORD, who is my refuge— then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.

The Appearance of an Angel
“The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush” - Exodus 3:2
The way the old testament prophets perceived angels This likely happened to them in meditation, in a dream, in a mystical experience - not in their everyday life the wheels, the eyes, the whirlwind of wings - probably just how the human mind perceives and “decodes” an interaction of the angelic foundational energy-beings of this reality. It is very strange to us, can cause fear - Hence “be not afraid”
For the human being to see or perceive the angelic frequencies and levels of reality - it will come across as very strange, very shocking….. Because it is so alien and foreign to this world and our ordinary physical human reality…
In the Book of Ezekiel, the Cherubim have intersecting wheels sparkling like topaz that move them in all four directions without turning, and their ‘entire bodies, including their backs, their hands and their wings, were completely full of eyes, as were their four wheels’.
Appear to humans as spinning wheels, a bunch of winged eyes A center of consciousness and a spinning motion around it. But also can appear to humans as being a humanoid light being(?)
They convey the message in the way that the receiver wants to.needs to receive it - chooses to perceive it
“Be not afraid”
When they appear, people become afraid, because they are something so strange and alien. So the first thing they say to people is “Be not afraid”
What are Angels Really?
they are a high light/sound frequency consciousness spirit that are very close to the Highest They are the architecture of this reality-experience
The messengers of God zipping about getting shit done
“EVERYTHING IS MADE OF ANGELS! You included. It is what this reality is made of. Angels are frequencies of light. They are a very primordial form of energy, chi, geometry, and intelligence that acts as the scaffolding and building blocks for every single infinite level of reality… Angels create the various levels of reality and the laws of physics and the themes…”
the scaffolding of divine order
Jewish philosopher Maimonides explained his view of angels in his Guide for the Perplexed II:4 and II
... This leads Aristotle in turn to the demonstrated fact that God, glory and majesty to Him, does not do things by direct contact. God burns things by means of fire; fire is moved by the motion of the sphere; the sphere is moved by means of a disembodied intellect, these intellects being the 'angels which are near to Him', through whose mediation the spheres move ... thus totally disembodied minds exist which emanate from God and are the intermediaries between God and all the bodies [objects] here in this world.— Guide for the Perplexed II:4, Maimonides
Angels and stars have always been seen as synonyms - in the Bible
Function: Messengers of God
They aren’t the messengers - they ARE the message themselves
“The angel is the immaterial voice of God, His instrument through which He speaks to the world” - Philo of Alexandria:On Dreams 1.141
“The name of the holy angels signifies their function: to bear the divine light to those below and to raise those below to the divine” - Dionysius the Areopagite

Emanations
According to Kabbalah, there are four worlds and our world is the last world: the world of action (Assiyah). Angels exist in the worlds above as a 'task' of God. They are an extension of God to produce effects in this world. After an angel has completed its task, it ceases to exist. The angel is in effect the task.
It is all based on an emanation paradigm of reality That there are layers to this shit God steps down and steps down and steps down…. Succesive layers on different fundamental layers of reality Angels exist in the space between Man and God They are the space and the connection link between the two.
they are the foundational energies of everything -
Literally the “angles” of our reality. The “messenger” from God/Source/Divinity to You/Man The higher level of divine being
Angels are intelligent energies, each governed by an archangelic consciousness tied to cosmic forces (e.g., planetary or Sephirotic energies).
Everything is made of Angels
they are not carriers of messages—they are the message itself,
As Augustine said:
Angels are spirits, but it is not because they are spirits that they are angels. They become angels when they are sent. For the name angel refers to their office, not their nature. You ask the name of this nature, it is spirit; you ask its office, it is that of an Angel, which is a messenger.
They are spirits of function—tasks made conscious, frequencies given form.
They are the bridges between worlds—the luminous connectors between God and Man, between Spirit and Matter.
According to Augustine of Hippo, the term 'angel' refers to "the name of their office, not [...] their nature", as they are pure spirits who act as messengers, clarifying: "If you seek the name of their nature, it is 'spirit'; if you seek the name of their office, it is 'angel': from what they are, 'spirit', from what they do, 'angel'."
Angels are not “beings” in the sense of individuals, but vibrations, principles, and intelligences of divine energy.
They are like geometric archetypes, or flaming hieroglyphs of light, as seen by mystics in visions.
Archangels are to angels what stars are to light—they are the directing consciousness, while angels are radiant emanations of that will.
Angels & Archangels
“An archangel is the intelligence that presides over a certain type of energy. An angel is a part of the energy ruled over by the archangelic intelligence. “
- Damien Echols
“Archangels tend to have a much more evolved state of self-awareness than an angel, and are unrivaled in energetic power. Think of planetary energies and intelligences, for example. Magicians have considered planetary energies, such as Jupiter or Sol to be god-like in their reach and efficacy. They were even celebrated as deities in long ago times by cultures such as the Greeks and Romans. But those tremendous powers and energies all fall under the ruling authority of one archangel or another. Angels, on the other hand, may not possess the same level of power, authority, and individualized consciousness as an archangel, but will single mindedly devote themselves to the task given them. This isn’t ENTIRELY accurate, but think of angels as pure, divine energy that serves a specific function in the universe. Archangels are the directing consciousness behind that energy” - Damien Echols
“Angels are almost pure energy, whereas archangels are the powerful, intelligent forces that direct that energy. For example, when we talk about the raw planetary energy of Jupiter, we’re talking about angels; when we talk about the consciousness or intelligence governing that energy, we’re talking about archangels. Angels are everywhere—they’re the very substance of which the cosmos is made. Archangels are essentially stars, just a couple of steps down from gods. They exist on the level of creation immediately above ours, which makes them relatively easy to contact. They’re also incredibly willing to work with us, if asked. Angels are more like elementals—powerful energies with just enough intelligence to perform as directed. This is why you have to give them specific instructions, because they will typically accomplish a given task in the easiest way possible, and they aren’t capable of discerning between human concepts of right and wrong. For this reason, I highly recommend telling them to do their work “in a way that harms none.” It’s also why magicians use archangels to guide and restrict angels to make sure that whatever magick they’re doing with them manifests in beneficial ways.” - Angels and Archangels, Damien Echols

Angelos
from Late Greek ἄγγελος angelos (literally "messenger")
The rendering of ángelos is the Septuagint's default translation of the Biblical Hebrew term malʼākh, denoting simply "messenger" without connoting its nature. In the Latin Vulgate, this meaning becomes bifurcated: when malʼākh or ángelos is supposed to denote a human messenger, words like nuntius or legatus are applied. If the word refers to some supernatural being, the word angelus appears.
The Torah uses the Hebrew terms מלאך אלהים (mal'āk̠ 'ĕlōhîm; "messenger of God"), מלאך יהוה (mal'āk̠ Yahweh; "messenger of the Lord"), בני אלהים (bənē 'ĕlōhîm; "sons of God") and הקודשים (haqqôd̠əšîm; "the holy ones") to refer to beings traditionally interpreted as angels.
mal’ākh: human and divine messengers in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Arabic
Hebrew mal’ākh is the standard word for "messenger", both human and divine, in the Hebrew Bible; it is also related to the words for "angel" in Arabic (malāk ملاك), Aramaic and Ethiopic. It is rarely used for human messengers in Modern Hebrew as the latter is usually denoted by the term shaliyakh (שליח).[3] The noun derives from the verbal consonantal root l-’-k (ל-א-ך), meaning specifically "to send with a message" and with time was substituted with more applicable sh-l-h.[4]
In Biblical Hebrew this root is attested only in this noun and in the noun מְלָאכָה məlʾāḵā́, meaning "work", "occupation" or "craftsmanship".
The morphological structure of the word mal’ākh suggests that it is the maqtal form of the root denoting the tool or the means of performing it.[5] The term mal’ākh therefore simply means the one who is sent, often translated as "messenger" when applied to humans; for instance, mal’ākh is the root of the name of the prophet Malachi, whose name means "my messenger". In Modern Hebrew, mal’akh is the general word for "angel".
Beni Elohim
In the early writings of the Hebrew Bible, both Hebrew: בְנֵי־הָאֱלֹהִים, romanized: Bənē hāʾĔlōhīm, lit. 'Sons of Gods' as well as the Hebrew: מַלְאָךְ, romanized: mal’āḵ, lit. 'messenger' are aspects of God.[33] In the earliest records, the Bənē hāʾĔlōhīm are in heaven. They are depicted as the heavenly court or the pantheon of religious belief-system of their time. They reflect the transcendent aspect of the Divine, but become progressively differentiated from the good aspect of the Divine. The mal’āḵ on the other hand, expresses the Divinties' interaction with the world. As such the mal’āḵ functions as the voice of the Divine, the Divine spirit, or as God himself. In Exodus 3:2-4, it is both Yahweh as well as a mal’āḵ Moses is addressed by
Demoted Gods?
Coogan explains the development of this concept of angels: "In the postexilic period, with the development of explicit monotheism, these divine beings—the 'sons of God' who were members of the Divine Council—were in effect demoted to what are now known as 'angels', understood as beings created by God, but immortal and thus superior to humans."[36] This conception of angels is best understood in contrast to demons and is often thought to be "influenced by the ancient Persian religious tradition of Zoroastrianism, which viewed the world as a battleground between forces of good and forces of evil, between light and darkness."
Greek translations of the Hebrew Bible refer to intermediary beings as angels, instead of daimons, thus giving raise to a distinction between demons and angels.[57] In the Old Testament, both benevolent and fierce angels are mentioned, but never called demons. The symmetry lies between angels sent by God, and intermediary spirits of foreign deities, not in good and evil deeds.[58]
Are demons just fallen angels? Are angels and demons both just divine spirits, and we classify them as such based on whether we perceive them/their function to be of light or dark?…
Angels in the New & Old Testaments
Three separate cases of angelic interaction deal with the births of John the Baptist and Jesus. In (Luke 1:11), an angel appears to Zechariah to inform him that he will have a child despite his old age, thus proclaiming the birth of John the Baptist. In Luke 1:26, Gabriel visits Mary in the Annunciation to foretell the birth of Jesus. Angels proclaim the birth of Jesus in the Adoration of the shepherds in Luke 2:10.[67]
According to Matthew 4:11, after Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, "...the Devil left him and, behold, angels came and ministered to him." In Luke 22:43 an angel comforts Jesus during the Agony in the Garden.[68] In Matthew 28:5 an angel speaks at the empty tomb, following the Resurrection of Jesus and the rolling back of the stone by angels.[67]
In the New Testament, the existence of angels, just like that of demons, is taken for granted.[59] They can intervene and intercede on behalf of humans. Angels protect the righteous (Matthew 4:6, Luke 4:11). They dwell in the heavens (Matthew 28:2, John 1:51), act as God's warriors (Matthew 26:53) and worship God (Luke 2:13).[60] In the parable of the Rich man and Lazarus, angels behave as psychopomps.[citation needed] The Resurrection of Jesus features angels, telling the woman that Jesus is no longer in the tomb, but has risen from the dead.[
(Hebrews 1:14) calls them "ministering [or serving] spirits", sent by God to aid the "heirs of salvation".
There is no evidence in Judaism for the worship of angels, but there is evidence for the invocation and sometimes even conjuration of angels.
Philo of Alexandria identifies the angel with the Logos inasmuch as the angel is the immaterial voice of God. The angel is something different from God himself, but is conceived as God's instrument.
Four classes of ministering angels minister and utter praise before the Holy One, blessed be He: the first camp (led by) Michael on His right, the second camp (led by) Gabriel on His left, the third camp (led by) Uriel before Him, and the fourth camp (led by) Raphael behind Him; and the Shekhinah of the Holy One, blessed be He, is in the centre. He is sitting on a throne high and exalted[48]
Psychopomp - leading souls to the afterlife
Angels/archangels are spirits - possibly used to be classified as gods in animistic/paganistic eras?… But then became servants of the Supreme Deity as things turned mono-theistic….
“In the Jewish tradition they are also inferior to humans since they have no will of their own and are able to carry out only one divine command”
The Development of the Idea of Angels
Sumerian Lamassu
Prominent angels, such as Michael and Gabriel, reflect a connection to the Chief Semitic deity El.
The Angels as beatific messengers of Deity is not in the older Old Testament literature.
In Ancient Greek philosophy, there is no significant distinction made between good and evil spirits.[120] Under Iranian influence, the sublunary sphere was traced to inspiring angels.[120] Philo of Alexandria already identified the Neo-Platonic interpretation of daemons as angels. The daemons were thought to be intermediary between the supernatural and earthly realm, interpreted by Philo as the Greek term for angels.[58]
In the commentaries of Proclus (4th century) on the Timaeus of Plato, Proclus uses the terminology of "angelic" (aggelikos) and "angel" (aggelos) in relation to metaphysical beings. According to Aristotle, just as there is a Prime Mover[121] so too, must there be spiritual secondary movers.[122]
Ibn Sina, developed an angelological hierarchy of Intellects, which are created by "the One" (God). Accordingly, the first creation by God is the supreme intellect. From that intellect, intermediary spirits (angels) emanate. From these intellects, the intellect corresponding to the soul finally emerges. It is by the last Intellect that matter is animated and illuminates the mind.[123][124]
The Greek magical papyri, a set of texts forming into a completed grimoire that date somewhere between 100 BC and 400 AD, also list the names of the angels found in monotheistic religions, but they are presented as deities.[126] Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel, though of Jewish origin, were popular figures in Hellenistic Egyptian paganism.[127]
Materialism removed angels from philosophical and scientific consideration. Thomas Hobbes declared angels to be "accidences of the brain" without any external reality. Immanuel Kant’s critique of knowledge further diminished the rational justification for angels.
Wings
"Angels fly because they take themselves lightly."
- G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy (1908)
John Chrysostom explained the significance of angels' wings:
“They manifest a nature's sublimity. That is why Gabriel is represented with wings. Not that angels have wings, but that you may know that they leave the heights and the most elevated dwelling to approach human nature. Accordingly, the wings attributed to these powers have no other meaning than to indicate the sublimity of their nature.”
Joseph Smith said "An angel of God never has wings", and therefore in mormon art angels do not have wings.
Devas
In the teachings of the Theosophical Society, Devas are regarded as living either in the atmospheres of the planets of the Solar System (Planetary Angels) or inside the Sun (Solar Angels) and they help to guide the operation of the processes of nature such as the process of evolution and the growth of plants; their appearance is reputedly like colored flames about the size of a human. It is believed by Theosophists that devas can be observed when the third eye is activated. Some (but not most) devas originally incarnated as human beings.[134]
It is believed by Theosophists that nature spirits, elementals (gnomes, undines, sylphs, and salamanders), and fairies also can be observed when the third eye is activated.[135] It is maintained by Theosophists that these less evolutionarily developed beings have never been previously incarnated as humans; they are regarded as being on a separate line of spiritual evolution called the "deva evolution"; eventually, as their souls advance as they reincarnate, it is believed they will incarnate as devas.
Deva is a Sanskrit word found in Vedic literature of 2nd millennium BCE. Sir Monier Monier-Williams translates it as "heavenly, divine, terrestrial things of high excellence, exalted, shining ones".[2][13] The concept also is used to refer to deity.[2]
The Sanskrit deva- derives from Indo-Iranian *daiv- which in turn descends from the Proto-Indo-European word, *deiwo-, originally an adjective meaning "celestial" or "shining", which is a (not synchronic Sanskrit) vrddhi derivative from *diw, zero-grade of the root *dyew- meaning "to shine", especially as the day-lit sky.[14] The feminine form of *deiwos is *deiwih2, which descends into Indic languages as devi, in that context meaning "female deity". Also deriving from *deiwos, and thus cognates of deva, are "Zeys/Ζεύς" - "Dias/Δίας", the Greek father of the gods, Lithuanian Dievas (Latvian Dievs, Prussian Deiwas), Germanic Tiwaz (seen in English "Tuesday") and the related Old Norse Tivar (gods), and Latin Deus "god" and divus "divine", from which the English words "divine" and "deity" are derived. It is related to *Dyeus which while from the same root, may originally have referred to the "heavenly shining father", and hence to "Father Sky", the chief God of the Indo-European pantheon, continued in Sanskrit Dyaus. The abode of the Devas is Dyuloka.[15]
According to Douglas Harper, the etymological roots of Deva mean "a shining one," from *div- "to shine," and it is cognate with Greek dios "divine" and Zeus, and Latin deus "god" (Old Latin deivos).[16] The word "Deva" shares similarities with Persian Daeva.
Angels & Science
René Descartes reportedly had a series of dreams on the night of November 10, 1619, one of which involved a vision that profoundly influenced his philosophical and scientific work.
Descartes dreamt of an angelic or divine figure that revealed to him that the "conquest of nature is to be achieved through measure and number.”
Angelic Understanding Evolved(or devolved) into Modern Physics
“Before the discovery of gravity, energy or magnetism, it was unclear why the cosmos behaved in the way it did, and angels were one way of accounting for the movement of physical entities. Maimonides argued that the planets, for example, are angelic intelligences because they move in their celestial orbits.”
- Aeon Magazine Why physics today stands on the wings of angels and demons | Aeon Essays
“This radical rethinking of Aristotelian physics, catalysed by medieval debates in angelology, allowed a new understanding of the relationship between bodies, place and motion that helped reformulate our understanding of the very fabric of the cosmos. For Aristotle, motion was just inherent to bodies because bodies had natures that made them seek their natural place. To posit angels as immaterial external forces was indeed oddly closer to a classical physics that sees an invisible force like gravity working on bodies externally. In fact, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz accused Newton of having introduced occult forces with his theory of gravity, because gravity seemed to be a supernatural force acting on bodies at a distance.” - https://aeon.co/essays/why-physics-today-stands-on-the-wings-of-angels-and-demons

Angels are the intelligences behind the planets, the governors of elemental forces, and the intermediaries of Divine Will.
Solomonic magic invokes specific angels to command spirits, seek knowledge, or achieve alignment with divine order.
In theurgy, one works toward communion with their Holy Guardian Angel (HGA)—the inner Divine Twin, the perfected celestial double, the guide to the Great Work.
To the Alchemist
Angels are the invisible intelligences that guide the transformation of matter and soul.
The Elements, planets, metals, fixed stars, each bear angelic correspondences.
Every phase of transmutation has angelic forces guiding the soul’s purification.
To the Disciple of Light/Christ
Angels are servants of the Logos, appearing throughout Scripture as guardians, warriors, and messengers of salvation.
They appeared to Mary, to Jesus in Gethsemane, and to the apostles at the tomb.
Hebrews 1:14 calls them “ministering spirits sent forth to serve those who will inherit salvation.”
Angels are protectors, and psychopomps guiding souls (Luke 16:22). They proclaim divine events (e.g., Annunciation, Resurrection) and are God’s warriors or worshipers (Matthew 26:53, Luke 2:13)
Your Role as Wizard and Initiate
Those who have contacted and worked with angels say that the angels see human beings as being above them in the cosmic hierarchy. They see us as God’s Sons & Daughters, and it is their duty to serve God and his children.
"For thou hast made him [man] a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour" (Psalms 8:4–5).
Communing with Angels
To truly understand angels is not to study about them—it is to become known to them.
As Ibn Mas’ud said:
“Become known to the angels and anonymous to men.”
Invoke, listen, purify, align….
Purification: Cleanse your body, mind, and space before engaging angels. Fast, bathe, or smudge with sage to align your energy.
Names and Correspondences: Study the Kabbalistic hierarchy (e.g., Metatron for Keter, Raphael for Tipheret) to call the right angel for your purpose.
Offerings: Offer gratitude, prayers, or acts of charity. Angels resonate with selfless acts.

The way that they seem, for me anyway, is more like a group of very strange friends that it’s taken a while to get to know, rather than dumb agency-lacking automitons to be commanded as some would suggest. Neither do they, in my experience, lend any likeness to archons or anything archonic, as others would say. They appear to be, through the collective experience I’ve witnessed in our group (including my own) something like sentient personifications of forces, or combinations of forces, in the universe who have permission to act causally. This is not to say they don’t have personalities, or even stories and narratives that may or may not have ever “happened” in the way us meatbrains like to define what True means, but they do seem structurally and causally integral to the universe. And they are most certainly persons. The archangels, especially, seem to have prominent roles in composing aspects of the world, as if fractured streams of consciousness cascading from the Capital G down into many streams or currents so that different forces can be combined in varying portions to make the variety of materials and beings we have in our universe. Like a table of elements, but spirits. Imagine pure white light of God hitting a prism and splitting into a rainbow, then those standard colors (archangels) sticking to some paint on a palette, only to be mixed again into new colors and images. I think of the Shemhamphorash and other “smaller-time” angels as being more complex iterations of these forces (the paintings, rather than the paint) with more complex spiritual structures and thus more specific vocations or rulerships. This would stack nicely against the grimoiric procedural method of calling up the ruling angels first; they very well may be actual components of the angels under their governance. In this sense it would be more accurate to think of a woven cascade of crocheted reality than some rigid hierarchy, but what do you expect considering the sources? In this case, also, we can think of getting to know the messengers as getting to know the very mind of God, or the seams and stitches in the quilt of Grandmother Weaver. The archangels also appear to be different from the planetary intelligences. The planets themselves, as persons, feel like vast old conscious generators of specific currents; engines of planetary essence being constantly emitted into the cosmos and from which things are woven, while the angels seem to be the stewards of how those currents behave and how they land in the manifest; like stewards of archetypal portions of existence. I’m not even going so far as to suggest that they are even the same class or “species” of spirit, per se (because who the fuck am I, and also see notes on Samael above) but our evidence and my experiences suggest that perhaps the ranking of “angel” is an actual thing reserved for spirits who have made the choice to take a custodial role in the universe. - https://janglebones.substack.com/p/how-to-befriend-angels-or-how-to-get-ahead-in-angel-scrying-or-an-eye-for-an-eye-could-take-a-really-long-time?utm_source=publication-search
List of instructions for Contacting Angels and Cunning Man Prayers - from Hollock & Holler Substack
There is no doubt that using grimoiric methods to contact, command, and accomplish magic with angels does, in fact, work, but this alone does not suggest a superior methodology. The methods that have survived did so because they work, but I personally cannot help but think that a more shamanic or intuitive approach could be equally valid, if not more so. This aligns with messages received through our group scrying sessions and our dreams; that existing systems should be used as training wheels to develop one’s own personal methods of honoring and contacting the messengers.I received the following instruction from the angels in dreams in the form of a bullet-list, a recipe for contact without a grimoire
- Know their name; This means to explore it. Say it aloud and pay attention to the way your mouth moves, the shapes you make with your projecting and contracting breath, what shapes those cause in your mind. Meditate on the name, formally or casually, until it feels familiar. Until you feel close to it. You could research the angel you wish to contact as well, forming a better idea of who they are and what to look for and while this was not explicitly part of the directions given in my contact events, “Know their name.” could easily imply knowing their story as well.
- Create an heartfelt image in dedication and representation of the essence of that angel, or at least as you currently perceive/understand them. An act of heartfelt creation makes an impact, a groove where reality incorporates an idea’s full manifestation into its unfathomable folds through a mutual engagement by the imaginal and yourself. To engage in such an act in dedication to another being is exactly the kind of entanglement we are going for. This could be a glorious work of art, or as simple as a sigil but remember with acts of devotion for the sake of contact you often get exactly what you put in. This doesn’t mean a painting is better than a sigil, this means take care to put your care into whatever choice on which you land. This image can also become an event, and even a talisman, when enough effort and heart is poured into the action.
- Dedicate an event in spacetime to them, making action and story in which you are both main characters. This can be as simple as “Tomorrow, on the day of the sun, I will climb to the top of a hill and greet the dawn with frankincense in honor of the archangel St. Michael, in his day and on his hour.” but could equally become much more flowery and dramatic. Naturally, an action that is in harmony with the nature or rulership of the spirit in question would be ideal. Tip: They seem to enjoy singing.
- Say words, tell their story, and add any poetic references to personal experiences you’ve had with the angel before, even if from a story or some kind of personal connection through childhood, perhaps the hospital where you were born or a boarding school dedicated to them, but especially if you’ve ever been helped or aided by the angel before. Calling upon the parts of your stories that intersect conjures the truth of your relationality, inherent in those moments in time.
- If you feel them arrive, thank them for coming and ask for closer contact with them. Ask how you can strengthen the connection. Ask them to give you a sign to confirm that contact was made, if you aren’t sure, and use your cards. If they show up and it’s a strong connection already, ask them to come when you call, to know them better, or for rulership specific assistance; ask what you think is best. Perhaps make a list of questions before hand. Here’s the kicker, end your heartfelt request with “In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and through the merits of Jesus Christ + Amen.”
