“The Light of God”
Uriel is the archangel of the North, and guardian of the element of Earth. In ceremonial magick, the tool on the altar which represents his energy is the pentacle, and the Pentacles suit of the tarot is his domain. We envision him in rich, emerald green robes and holding a wooden disk engraved with a five pointed star. He rules over the season of Winter. Uriel is one of the angels strongly associated with manifestation and magick, due to the fact that the earthly plane of existence is where we want our our desires to take shape - thus we can ask for his favor and blessings upon all our endeavors in the metaphysical realm and he will help see that it comes to pass. He's also another warrior angel, which is why we call upon him to protect our sacred space. His name means "flame of god", which is why you sometimes find depictions of him holding a torch. I've also seen beautiful statues of him wielding a mace, which is a club with a spiked ball on the end of it. In the book of Enoch, Uriel is one of the angels who goes to war with "The Watchers" - a group of fallen angels who sought to corrupt humanity.

Uriel is dressed in rich, green robes and is holding a pentacle. When you envision him/her in the north, try to feel a cold, dry winter wind blow into your circle from that direction.
