There are essentially 4 paths that run through ceremonial magick, and each lodge, order, or religion will belong to one of these four traditions. There are : 1 - Solar traditions 2 - Lunar traditions 3 - Stellar traditions 4 - Terrestrial traditions.
Solar traditions rely upon what is known as the formula of the dying god. It includes groups like Christianity, the Golden Dawn, and the outer order of Crowley’s Thelema. Lunar traditions include those of a more feminine energy - from witchcraft to esoteric Judaism. Stellar traditions are those such as the ancient Sumerian schools, where instead of the sun being the focal point, the highest spiritual hierarchy was the holy trinity of Draco, Ursa Major, and Ursa Minor - or Anu, Enlil, and Enki. Terrestrial traditions are those that establish an understanding of our true nature and establish our inner equilibrium by means of studying the patterns the divine makes throughout nature.
