Desire Becoming Devotion
The Grail tradition does not reject desire; it asks that desire be educated. Courtly love can symbolize the movement from possession to reverence, from appetite to fidelity, and from the private beloved toward Beauty itself. When idealization becomes evasion it distorts love; when desire is purified by truth, consent, courage, and service, it becomes a force of devotion that reawakens the heart.
