The Hidden Waters
The Grail romances are filled with maidens, lakes, wells, vessels, queens, sovereign ladies, enchanted women, and healing waters. The feminine is not absent from the Grail world; it becomes a symbolic language of mystery, wisdom, and restoration. Sophia takes landscape and body: hidden Grail, Lady, lake, spring, queen, lost sovereignty. The Wasteland is partly a world in which Wisdom no longer flows.
