The first Grail encounter is not attainment. The seeker reaches the Castle and fails: the vision is seen, but the Question remains unasked. The deeper pattern is Quest → glimpse → failure → exile again → maturation → second Quest → fulfillment. The Prince may find the Grail Castle before being ready; this failure is itself an initiation.
