Kingdom Within the Wasteland
The Grail Castle appears and disappears, lies beyond ordinary geography, shelters the wounded King, and contains the Grail and its procession. It is a threshold between Wasteland and Kingdom. The seeker may glimpse it before being ready to remain. In this sense it is an image of mystical experience: Reality is encountered before the soul has become capable of living from it continuously.
