Mars Baptized
The warrior’s powers are strength, aggression, courage, will, protection, and endurance. Chivalry asks whether these powers can be consecrated. The Knight is Mars baptized: not the abolition of martial force, but its conversion into service, defense, fidelity, restraint, courage, and sacrifice. Strength must protect Love rather than use Love as a justification for strength.
