Saint Ignatius of Antioch

Ignatius, bishop of Antioch, wrote a series of luminous letters while traveling under guard toward martyrdom in Rome. He is remembered for his fierce love of Christ, his vision of the Eucharist and the unity of the Church, and his willingness to meet death as a final act of witness.
