Hermes and Christ
Hermes is not secretly Jesus. Hermetic ascent teaches knowledge of God, cosmos, mind, and rebirth; Christic Atonement teaches forgiveness, Sonship, surrender, and awakening from separation. Hermes teaches the architecture and sacred science of the dream. Christ reveals the final truth beyond the dream. Hermeticism maps the meaningful dream; Christ teaches awakening from it.

The Hermetic Thread across the Astral Library
Hermeticism is not confined to one historical period.
It is one of the major threads running through the entire Western Mystery Tradition and therefore naturally crosses several Books.
Book III — Ancient Roots
The older Egyptian, Greek, and primordial background belongs principally with the ancient Tradition:
- Egypt,
- Thoth,
- sacred science,
- temple culture,
- cosmology,
- ancient correspondences.
Book VI — Hellenistic and Alexandrian Hermetism
Here the focus is the late-antique philosophical Hermetic literature that arises in the same cultural world as:
- early Christianity,
- Gnosticism,
- Middle Platonism,
- Egyptian religion,
- Jewish thought.
The Corpus Hermeticum belongs especially to this phase.
The central themes are:
- divine Mind,
- rebirth,
- knowledge of God,
- ascent,
- human divinity,
- cosmic sympathy.
Book VIII — Hermetic Arts & Sciences
The later flowering of Hermeticism into the practical Western occult arts belongs principally in Book VIII:
- magic,
- alchemy,
- astrology,
- Renaissance Hermetism,
- operative occult philosophy.
The same current therefore passes through three historical modes:
ancient sacred inheritance
→ late-antique philosophical revelation
→ medieval/Renaissance occult Art.
Hermeticism is not a side branch of the Royal Art.
It is one of its central longitudinal currents.
