“There is no question but one you should ever ask of yourself: ‘Do I want to know my Father’s will for me?’” (ACIM)
“Not my will, but thy will be done”
The Course insists that God's will is not oppressive. Because God's will and your true will are ultimately the same.
“Your will was not created separate from His.”
So surrender to God, in ACIM, is ultimately not submission to an alien authority. It is the rediscovery of your own true will.
