We buried our terror deep in our minds and have tried to ignore it and carry on:

We go on searches to find God and make Him ours, but we also carry this haunting fear that He will catch up with us, “somewhere, sometime, in some form that evens the account [we] owe to God.’?° We want His guidance, yet we fear what sacrifice it might demand of us, for somewhere inside we “cannot trust Him not to strike [us] dead with lightning bolts torn from the ‘fires’ of Heaven.”
