The "Last Judgement" is literally that. The final judgment, the last act of discernment one ever needs to make. The judgment between Truth and illusion, Reality & the dream, Heaven or Hell. It is “the process by which we judge all past thoughts and retain only the pure.” It is the end of the mind’s miscreations
At the end of all things, at the end of time - you will judge and be judged. You will reap all that you have sown. In every moment you reap what you have sown in the previous moment.
“The aim of the Final Judgment is to restore right-mindedness to you.”
“finally all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. “
The term “Last Judgment” is frightening, not only because it has been falsely projected onto God, but also because of the association of “Last” with death… Actually, if the Last Judgment is examined objectively, it is quite apparent that it is really the doorway to life.
Your own final judgment cannot be directed toward yourself, because you are not your own creation. ²You can apply it meaningfully and at any time, however, to everything you have ever made, and retain in your real memory only what is good. ³This is what your own right-mindedness cannot but dictate. ⁴The purpose of time is solely to “give you time” to achieve this judgment. ⁵It is your own perfect judgment of what you have made. ⁶When everything that you retain is lovable, there is no reason for any fear to remain in you. ⁷This is your part in the Atonement.
The final judgment on the world contains no condemnation, for it sees the world as totally forgiven, without sin, and wholly purposeless. ²Without a cause, and now without a function in Christ’s sight, it merely slips away to nothingness. ³There it was born, and there it ends as well. ⁴And all the figures in the dream in which the world began go with it. ⁵Bodies now are useless and will therefore fade away, because the Son of God is limitless.
This is God’s Final Judgment: “You are still my holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, and completely changeless and forever pure. ²Therefore awaken and return to Me. ³I am your Father, and you are my Son.”
The Final Judgment will not come until it is no longer associated with fear. One day each one will welcome it, and on that very day it will be given him. He will hear his sinlessness proclaimed around and around the world, setting it free as God’s Final Judgment on him is received. This is the Judgment in which salvation lies. This is the Judgment that will set him free.
The Last Judgment is not the thunder of condemnation from a distant throne — not fire cast down upon the guilty from a God of wrath. It is the final act of sight: the moment when the mind, having wandered through all its miscreations, having judged and been judged and laid down at last the cruel sword it held against its own throat, looks upon everything it has ever made and sees clearly for the first time what is real and what is not, what is worthy and what is dream.
Time itself was given for no other purpose — every moment a rehearsal for this one discernment, this sorting of the true from the false, this last passage through the veil between illusion and the Light that never departed. The books are opened. The Ancient of Days takes his seat. The dead arise from their graves to hear the Voice they refused in life. And what is revealed is innocence. Not guilt, but the Son who never truly left his Father's side, remembered now, restored, proclaimed around and around the world until the world itself can hold no more: holy, eternal, free, and whole.
On that day — which is not a day but the end of days — the world the dreaming mind constructed slips quietly away to nothingness, for it was born of nothing and to nothing it returns. Without sin to sustain it, without fear to give it substance, the dream dissolves: the figures fade, the bodies lighten into light, and what remains is only what was always real.
This is Atonement — the Father's voice, patient through all the long ages of forgetting, speaking at last into the silence the Son has made by laying down his idols and his judgments: “Awaken. Return to Me. You are still my holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, completely changeless and forever pure.”
This is the Judgment that heals every sorrow and closes the great story of exile with a word that was always waiting at the end of every road: home.
"Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” - [Rev 20:11–15]
“Whenever any Individual Rejects Error & Embraces Truth a Last Judgment passes upon that Individual.” ~ William Blake from A Vision of The Last Judgment (c. 1810)
The Real Meaning of the Last Judgment
We have said that whatever you make or create is real in your own eyes, but not necessarily in the sight of God. This basic distinction leads us directly into the real meaning of the Last Judgment. The Final Judgment is one of the greatest threat concepts in humanity’s perception. This is only because you do not understand it. ³Judgment is not an essential attribute of God. ⁴You brought judgment into being only because of the separation. ⁵God Himself is still the God of mercy. ⁶After the separation, however, there was a place for justice in the schema, because it was one of the many learning devices which had to be built into the overall plan. Just as the separation occurred over many millions of years, the Last Judgment will extend over a similarly long period, and perhaps even longer. ²Its length depends, however, on the effectiveness of the present speed-up. ³We have frequently noted that the miracle is a device for shortening but not abolishing time. ⁴If a sufficient number of people become truly miracle-minded quickly, the shortening process can be almost immeasurable. ⁵But it is essential that these individuals free themselves from fear sooner than would ordinarily be the case, because they must emerge from the basic conflict if they are to bring peace to the minds of others. The Last Judgment is generally thought of as a procedure undertaken by God. ²Actually, it will be undertaken solely by the Sonship with my help. ³It is a final healing rather than a meting out of punishment, however much you may think punishment is deserved. ⁴Punishment as a concept is in total opposition to right-mindedness. ⁵The aim of the Final Judgment is to restore right-mindedness to you. The Final Judgment might be called a process of right evaluation. ²It simply means that finally all minds must come to understand what is worthy and what is not. ³After this, their ability to choose can be reasonably directed. ⁴Unless this distinction has been made, the vacillations between free and imprisoned will cannot but continue. The first step toward freedom, then, must entail a sorting out of the false from the true. ²This is a process of division only in the constructive sense, and reflects the true meaning of the Apocalypse. ³Everyone will ultimately look upon what he has made and will to preserve only what is good, just as God Himself once looked upon what He had created and knew that it was good. ⁴At this point, the mind will begin to look with love on what it has made, because of its great worthiness. ⁵The mind will inevitably disown its miscreations, and having withdrawn belief from them, they will no longer exist. The term “Last Judgment” is frightening, not only because it has been falsely projected onto God, but also because of the association of “Last” with death. ²This is an outstanding example of upside-down perception. ³Actually, if the Last Judgment is examined objectively, it is quite apparent that it is really the doorway to life. ⁴No one who lives in fear is really alive. - [CE T-2.XIII]
"But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned." - Matthew 12:36–37
What Is the Last Judgment?
Christ’s Second Coming gives the Son of God the gift to hear the Voice for God proclaim that what is false is false, and what is true has never changed. ²And this the judgment is in which perception ends. ³At first you see a world which has accepted this as true, projected from a now corrected mind. ⁴And with this holy sight, perception gives a silent blessing and then disappears, its goal accomplished and its mission done. You who believe that God’s Last Judgment will condemn the world to hell along with you, accept this holy truth: God’s Judgment is the gift of the correction He bestowed on all your errors, freeing you from them and all effects they ever seemed to have. ²To fear God’s saving grace is but to fear complete release from suffering; return to peace, security and happiness; and union with your own identity. God’s Final Judgment is as merciful as every step in His appointed plan to bless His Son and call him to return to the eternal peace He shares with him. ²Be not afraid of love. ³For it alone can heal all sorrow, wipe away all tears, and gently waken from his dreams of pain the Son whom God acknowledges as His. ⁴Be not afraid of this. ⁵Salvation asks you give it welcome. ⁶And the world awaits your glad acceptance, which will set it free. This is God’s Final Judgment: “You are still my holy Son, forever innocent, forever loving and forever loved, as limitless as your Creator, and completely changeless and forever pure. ²Therefore awaken and return to Me. ³I am your Father, and you are my Son.” - CE W-WI.10
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.' Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life." - Matthew 25:31–46
John 5:28–29 — The Hour of Resurrection
"Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out — those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned."
“Arise from the dead and come to judgment.”
Is Each One to Be Judged in the End? - From ACIM Teachers Manual
“Indeed, yes! No one can escape God’s Final Judgment. Who could flee forever from the truth? But the Final Judgment will not come until it is no longer associated with fear. One day each one will welcome it, and on that very day it will be given him. He will hear his sinlessness proclaimed around and around the world, setting it free as God’s Final Judgment on him is received. This is the Judgment in which salvation lies. This is the Judgment that will set him free.
This is the Judgment in which all things are freed with him. Time pauses as eternity comes near, and silence lies across the world that everyone may hear this Judgment of the Son of God: Holy are you, eternal, free, and whole, at peace forever in the heart of God. Where is the world, and where is sorrow now?
Is this your judgment on yourself, teacher of God? Do you believe that this is wholly true? No—not yet, not yet. But this is still your goal; why you are here. It is your function to prepare yourself to hear this Judgment and to recognize that it is true. One instant of complete belief in this and you will go beyond belief to certainty. One instant out of time can bring time’s end. Judge not, for you but judge yourself and thus delay this Final Judgment. What is your judgment on the world, O teacher of God? Have you yet learned to stand aside and hear the Voice of Judgment in yourself? Or do you still attempt to take His role from Him? Learn to be quiet, for His Voice is heard in stillness. And His Judgment comes to all who stand aside in quiet listening and wait for Him. You who are sometimes sad and sometimes angry, who sometimes feel your just due is not given you and your best efforts meet with lack of appreciation and even with contempt—give up these foolish thoughts. They are too small and meaningless to occupy your holy mind an instant longer. God’s Judgment waits for you, to set you free. What can the world hold out to you, regardless of your judgments on its gifts, that you would rather have? You will be judged, and judged in fairness and in honesty. There is no deceit in God. His promises are sure. Only remember that. His promises have guaranteed His Judgment, and His alone, will be accepted in the end. It is your function to make that end be soon. It is your function to hold His Judgment in your heart and offer it to all the world to keep it safe.”
A dream of judgment came into the mind that God created perfect as Himself. ²And in that dream was Heaven changed to hell and God made enemy unto His Son. ³How can His Son awaken from the dream? ⁴It is a dream of judgment. ⁵So must he judge not, and he will waken. ⁶For the dream will seem to last while he is part of it. ⁷Judge not, for he who judges will have need of idols which will hold the judgment off from resting on himself. ⁸Nor can he know the Self he has condemned. ⁹Judge not, because you make yourself a part of evil dreams, where idols are your “true” identity and your salvation from the judgment laid in terror and in guilt upon yourself. [CE T-29.X.2:1-9]
Daniel 7:9–10 — The Ancient of Days
"As I looked, thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow; the hair of his head was white like wool. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court was seated, and the books were opened."
"Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End." - Revelation 22:12
We have already discussed the Last Judgment in some, though insufficient, detail. After the Last Judgment, there isn’t any more. - [CE T-3.X.1:1-2]

The ego literally lives on borrowed time, and its days are numbered. ⁵Do not fear the Last Judgment, but welcome it and do not wait, for the ego’s time is borrowed from your eternity. ⁶This is the Second Coming, which was made for you as the First was created. The Second Coming is merely the return of sense. ²Can this possibly be fearful? ³What can be fearful but fantasy? ⁴No one turns to fantasy unless he despairs of satisfaction in reality. ⁵But it is certain that he will never find satisfaction in fantasy, so his only hope is to change his mind about reality. ⁶Only if the decision that reality is fearful is wrong can God be right. ⁷And I assure you that God is right. CE T-9.IV.10-11
Lay down your arms, and come without defense into the quiet place where Heaven’s peace holds all things still at last. ²Lay down all thoughts of danger and of fear. ³Let no attack enter with you. ⁴Lay down the cruel sword of judgment that you hold against your throat, and put aside the withering assaults with which you seek to hide your holiness. [CE W-190.9]
The Second Coming ends the lessons which the Holy Spirit teaches, making way for the Last Judgment, in which learning ends in one last summary that will extend beyond itself, and reaches up to God. - [CE W-WI.9.3:1]
Nothing the Son of God believes can be destroyed, but what is truth to him must be brought to the last comparison that he will ever make, the last evaluation that will be possible, the final judgment upon this world. ²It is the judgment of the truth upon illusion, of knowledge on perception: “It has no meaning and does not exist.” ³This is not your decision. ⁴It is but a simple statement of a simple fact. ⁵But in this world there are no simple facts, because what is the same and what is different remains unclear. ⁶The one essential thing to make a choice at all is this distinction. ⁷And herein lies the difference between the worlds: In this one choice is made impossible; in the real world is choosing simplified.
