The moral Fall — Adam’s disobedience, alienation, and exile. The cosmic Fall — Sophia, the Demiurge, the Archons, and imprisoned Light. The metaphysical descent — the soul’s procession into multiplicity, body, time, and forgetfulness. The primordial rupture — contraction, shattered vessels, fallen sparks, and the Work of restoration.
In Genesis, it is a moral and covenantal rupture expressed through disobedience, exile, death, labor, and the loss of Eden. In Gnostic systems, it is a cosmic fracture or entrapment of divine light in a deficient world. In Platonism, it is the soul’s descent, forgetfulness, and captivity to appetite. In Hermeticism, it is the divine Human’s attraction to Nature and assumption of the mortal form. In Lurianic Kabbalah, it is the shattering and dispersion of divine light into the worlds. In ACIM, it is the “tiny, mad idea” of separation and the dream of time, bodies, and death.
