The Last Page of the Fall
This chapter is the bridge from Book II into Book III. It is not the beginning of a new civilization but the moment the metaphysical story becomes a human story.
The Dreamer
The Son who knows himself in God now identifies with a body and a name, a place and a duration. The timeless is experienced as past and future.
The First Human Condition
- dependence upon food, shelter, and environment;
- birth, generation, and kinship;
- vulnerability, mortality, and loss;
- fear, desire, conflict, and cooperation;
- language, memory, craft, and imagination.
The Two Inheritances
Humanity carries both the wound of apparent separation and the capacity to remember truth. Thus even in exile appear compassion, beauty, mathematics, ritual, poetry, wisdom, and sacred longing.
From Fall to Sacred History
The Adamic and Enochic traditions, the Watchers, antediluvian memory, Flood, and Babel belong to the next great movement: primordial sacred history and the first cultures.
The Golden Thread
The Holy Spirit, wisdom, conscience, providence, and inherited sacred teaching become symbols of an unbroken possibility of return.
The Great Story
Book I: Formation. Book II: Separation. Book III: Primordial Memory. Book IV: Covenant. Book V: Christ and Restoration.
The Fall creates the labyrinth; the living thread remains within it.
