The mature Bard sings grief, death, exile, betrayal, trauma, and the Wasteland. Psalms, blues, ballads, elegy, and tragedy preserve suffering without allowing it to remain mute. Lament transforms isolated pain into shared meaning. Civilizations need ritualized mourning so trauma can be symbolized, remembered, and gradually integrated.
