Receiving and Re-forming the World
Plato’s suspicion and Aristotle’s defense frame a permanent question: does art copy reality or create? The Royal Art needs both. The artist first receives the world, then re-forms it. The progression is perception → imitation → transformation → symbolic revelation. The sacred artist does not merely copy a tree, but may reveal the Tree at the Center of the World.
