Expression, Form, and Communion
Subjective art may foreground personal feeling and individual expression. Objective or sacred art seeks forms whose proportion, symbol, and discipline can communicate beyond the artist’s private state. The Royal Art does not suppress personality, but asks it to serve communion. The question shifts from “How do I express myself?” to “What can I make that joins persons, worlds, and generations?”
