Art as Communion
Once released, a work leaves total authorial control. Readers interpret, singers perform, cultures adapt, and children inherit. Authorial intention matters, but no living symbol is exhausted by it; not all interpretations are equal, yet genuine dimensions may exceed conscious design. A song unheard is incomplete in one sense. Art is relational communion among self, God, community, ancestors, descendants, visible, and invisible—not self-expression alone.
