Book XII makes symbols transparent; Book XIII creates symbols consciously. Revelation removes the veil, and Bardcraft paints upon transparent glass without mistaking the image for Reality. The last symbol dissolves; the first new song begins. Awakened myth is neither unconscious literalism nor rejection of symbol, but truthful symbolic creation.
