Calling Things by Their True Name
God names in Book I; the divine Name enters Book IV; the Word is lost and restored across the Opus. In Book XIII, the poet names experience so exactly that others recognize what they always felt but could not articulate. Naming distinguishes, awakens attention, and gives relational existence within language. The poet’s magic is not domination but truthful recognition.
