The apprentice studies Grail, Stone, Tree, Crown, and inherited symbolic grammars. The mature Bard generates symbols capable of carrying the Work into the future. A true new symbol is neither arbitrary nor merely clever. It did not exist before, yet feels inevitable because it condenses a living pattern into memorable form.
