Eros as the Movement of the Soul
Beauty draws the soul. Immature eros sees beauty and wants to possess it; mature eros learns to contemplate, protect, serve, and participate in what is beautiful. The Venusian ascent moves from desire for the beautiful thing, to union with Beauty itself, to the Bardic wish to create beautiful forms through which others may remember Beauty.
