Wisdom in Exile and Return
Sophia’s movement—Pleroma → desire and rupture → descent → ignorance and suffering → cry for help → Savior and Light → restoration—is one of the great mythic forms of the return. The Exiled Prince follows a parallel pattern: Kingdom → separation → exile → ignorance → Call → Christ → return. The two are not identical. Sophia remains cosmic Wisdom, not merely an image of the individual soul; yet her story also discloses an inward pattern of fall, remembrance, and restoration. In Book VI, Sophia stands at the center of Gnostic salvation. Later she reappears as Grail, Lady, Beloved, Shekinah, Sacred Marriage, and Beauty.
