The Three Steles of Seth is a Sethian Gnostic text preserved in Nag Hammadi Codex VII. Framed as a revelation concerning three inscribed steles, it consists of hymnic praise directed toward the highest divine reality and the powers of the Pleroma. Its language is liturgical rather than argumentative: remembrance, praise, and ascent become the means by which the soul is aligned with its transcendent origin.
The text is important because it shows that Gnosis was not only a cosmological theory but also a form of prayer and sacred utterance. Within the Royal Art, it reveals the contemplative heart of the Sethian current: true knowledge is not possession of information, but participation in praise, purification, and the turning of the soul toward its source.
