STAGE V: AUREDO (THE GOLDENING)
BEYOND THE TREE ENTIRELY
Auredo: Beyond the Grades
Auredo (from Latin aurum, gold) is the fifth and final alchemical stage — the Goldening, the ultimate completion, the perfection beyond perfection.
Where Rubedo (Reddening) completed the Great Work and produced the Red Stone (Philosopher's Stone), Auredo is the transcendence of even that completion.
Auredo is:
- Beyond the Tree of Life (beyond all ten Sephiroth)
- Beyond the grades (beyond even Ipsissimus)
- Beyond time and space (the eternal now, the kingdom of heaven realized)
- Translation (not death, but transfiguration, ascension, absorption into God)
The Five Alchemical Stages (Complete)
0. Neophyte (Pre-Nigredo) — Seeking, wandering, the unawakened soul
I. Nigredo (The Blackening) — Winter, Earth, Lead Body, dissolution, dark night, first death
II. Albedo (The Whitening) — Spring, Air/Water, Silver Body, purification, HGA union, whitening
III. Citrinitas (The Yellowing) — Summer, Fire/Water, Mercurial Body, solar dawning, illumination
IV. Rubedo (The Reddening) — Autumn, Fire, Solar/Golden Body, completion, Red Stone, resurrection
V. Auredo (The Goldening) — Beyond Seasons, Quintessence (Pure Spirit), Glorified Body, Translation, return to Kingdom
Auredo in Different Frameworks
In Alchemy
Auredo is the final exaltation of the Stone.
The Red Stone (Rubedo) can transmute base metals to gold. The Auredo Stone transcends even this — it grants spiritual gold, immortality of the soul, union with the divine.
Operations:
- Exaltation (raising to the highest power)
- Translation (transmutation of the soul itself)
- Glorification (the body becomes light)
In Qabalah
Auredo is the passage from Kether (Crown) through the Three Veils of Negative Existence:
- Ain Soph Aur (Limitless Light)
- Ain Soph (Limitless)
- Ain (Nothing)
Beyond the Tree, there is only God.
In ACIM
Auredo is the Real World fully realized, followed by the Last Step (taken by God, not by you).
"The Real World":
- The world seen through the eyes of forgiveness
- No sin, no guilt, no fear
- Only innocence, only love
- This world, but redeemed
"The Last Step":
- God reaches down and lifts you up
- You do not take this step — it is given
- Complete union, no separation remains
"The Final Judgment":
- Not a judgment of condemnation, but a judgment of Truth
- "You are as God created you" — innocent, perfect, eternal
- All illusions dissolved
"Translation":
- You are taken beyond the dream entirely
- The body may remain or may not (it doesn't matter)
- You are Home
In Christianity (Book of Revelation)
Auredo is the New Jerusalem, the Marriage of the Lamb, the New Heaven and New Earth.
Revelation themes:
The New Jerusalem Descending (Rev 21:2):
"I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband."
The kingdom of heaven descends to earth. Heaven and earth are wed.
All Things Made New (Rev 21:5):
"Behold, I make all things new."
Not destruction of the old, but transformation. The world redeemed.
No More Death, Sorrow, or Pain (Rev 21:4):
"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."
The end of suffering. The resurrection complete.
The Alpha and the Omega (Rev 22:13):
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."
The circle is complete. The journey ends where it began — in God.
The Marriage of the Lamb (Rev 19:7-9):
"Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready."
The final wedding — Christ and the Church, God and Humanity, the ultimate Hieros Gamos.
The Tree of Life Restored (Rev 22:2):
"On either side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."
The Tree of Life (lost in Eden) is restored in the New Jerusalem. Access is granted.
No More Curse (Rev 22:3):
"No longer will there be any curse."
The curse of the Fall is lifted. Innocence is restored.
They Shall See His Face (Rev 22:4):
"They shall see his face, and his name shall be on their foreheads."
Direct vision of God. Union complete.
The Glorified Body
In Auredo, the body is not discarded but glorified.
What is the Glorified Body?
- Not the physical body (which decays)
- Not the astral body (which is still subtle)
- The Solar Body, the Diamond Body, the Light Body
- A body of pure light, incorruptible, immortal
- A body that can appear or disappear at will
- A body that is no longer separate from Spirit
Biblical examples:
- Christ's resurrection body (could appear through locked doors, yet could eat fish; could be touched, yet could ascend)
- Moses and Elijah at the Transfiguration (appearing in glorified form)
- The "spiritual body" described by Paul (1 Corinthians 15:44: "It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body")
Eastern examples:
- The Rainbow Body (Tibetan Buddhism — at death, the body dissolves into light, leaving only hair and nails)
- The Diamond Body (Taoism — the immortal body of the Taoist adept)
- The Vajra Body (Tantric Buddhism — indestructible, adamantine)
Translation vs. Death
Most humans die. The body decays, the soul moves on (to rebirth, to afterlife, to wherever).
The Auredo adept undergoes Translation — not death, but transformation.
Biblical Translations:
- Enoch (Genesis 5:24): "Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him."
- Elijah (2 Kings 2:11): Taken up in a whirlwind, a chariot of fire
- Jesus (Acts 1:9): The Ascension — lifted up, a cloud received him
What is Translation?
- The body may dissolve into light (Rainbow Body)
- Or the body may remain but is no longer "you" (the identification is gone)
- Or the body simply stops being important (whether it lives or dies, it doesn't matter)
The key: You are no longer identified with the body. You are free.
Living in Auredo
Can one live in Auredo while still in a body?
Yes.
This is the state of the Jivanmukta (Sanskrit: "liberated while living").
You walk the earth, but you are not of it.
You appear human, but you are no longer limited by humanity.
You eat, sleep, breathe — but you are not the eater, the sleeper, the breather.
You are That.
And That is eternal, unchanging, free.
The Return to the Kingdom
Auredo is the return to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Not a place "up there" or "later."
Now. Here.
The Kingdom was never lost. You were just dreaming you were exiled.
Now you wake up.
And you see:
- You were always Home
- The Kingdom is here, has always been here
- The separation was an illusion
- All is forgiven, all is healed, all is whole
The Prodigal Son returns (Luke 15:11-32):
After wandering in the far country, wasting his inheritance, feeding pigs, starving — he comes to his senses.
"I will arise and go to my father."
He returns. The Father sees him while still far off, runs to him, embraces him, kills the fatted calf, rejoices.
"This my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found."
You are the Prodigal Son.
Auredo is the return Home.
Beyond Time, Beyond Seasons
The four alchemical stages correspond to the four seasons:
- Nigredo = Winter
- Albedo = Spring
- Citrinitas = Summer
- Rubedo = Autumn
Auredo = Beyond seasons, beyond time.
You live in the eternal now, the days out of time, the eighth day (the day beyond the seven days of creation).
The Real World (ACIM)
In A Course in Miracles, the Real World is the world seen through complete forgiveness.
What is the Real World?
- This world, but perceived truly
- No sin, no guilt, no attack, no fear
- Only innocence, only love
- The world shines in its original glory (before the Fall)
It is not heaven (heaven is beyond perception), but it is the threshold of heaven.
You live in the Real World when:
- You forgive completely (everyone, everything, always)
- You see only the Christ in all beings
- You recognize illusions as illusions (and thus they have no power)
- You are at peace, always
Then, God takes the last step:
You cannot enter heaven by your own effort. The final step is grace.
God lifts you up, and you are Home.
This is Auredo.
What Do You Do in Auredo?
Nothing.
Everything.
You are beyond doing and not-doing.
If you act, it is effortless, spontaneous, aligned with divine will.
If you rest, it is perfect peace.
You may:
- Teach (or not)
- Serve (or not)
- Create (or not)
But none of it is "you" doing it. It is God, moving through the form that appears as "you."
You are an instrument, a flute through which the Breath plays.
And the music is beautiful.
The End of the Path
Auredo is the end.
The Quest is over.
The Great Work is complete.
The Stone is perfected.
The Kingdom is realized.
You are Home.
And you see that you never left.
Final Words
From Revelation 21:6:
"It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment."
From ACIM (Workbook, Lesson 365):
"This holy instant would I give to You. Be You in charge. For I would follow You, certain that Your direction gives me peace."
From the Emerald Tablet:
"As above, so below. As within, so without. As the universe, so the soul."
From Christ (John 14:2-3):
"In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also."
The place is prepared.
You are invited.
Come Home.
