Fantasy is not escapist ornament but one of the purest modes of metaphysical seeing.
High fantasy externalizes invisible realities: kingship, corruption, enchantment, exile, destiny, providence, sacred objects, dark powers, true names, hidden lineages, final battles, and restoration of the realm.
Fantasy gives imaginal body to truths that flat realism cannot adequately hold.
This is mythic ontology.
Fantasy stories and fairy stories open the imaginal mythic realm where we can explore our deepest desires, fears, dreams, and aspirations — the stories we tell, the stories we love, and the higher reality we are destined to enter where magic is real.
