Bors in the Grail Quest

Bors is one of the knights who reaches the Grail mystery in the later Arthurian tradition. His importance is the return: he survives the Quest and carries its witness back to Arthur's court.
Fidelity under trial
Bors's path tests loyalties to family, companions, vows, and the sacred call. He must discern what service requires when worthy claims conflict. His knighthood is measured through constancy, mercy, and obedience to the deeper purpose of the Quest.
The fourth pattern of the Grail Knight
Perceval grows through failure and compassion. Galahad embodies purity and consummation. Lancelot reveals the limits of greatness divided against itself. Bors represents fidelity that remains within the human world after sacred encounter.
Return to the Kingdom
Bors's testimony means that the Grail is not only an ending beyond the world. Its meaning can be carried back into fellowship, memory, and service. For the Royal Art, he gives the Grail Knight a model of return: receive the mystery, remain faithful, and help the Kingdom remember what the Quest disclosed.
