The identity of good and evil
At the deepest level, you will confront the question: is the Dark Lord real? Is evil a genuine force, or is it simply the absence of good, the shadow cast by turning away from light?
The Course says evil is illusion — it has no reality, only the appearance of reality given by belief. But in the Tale, the Dark Lord must seem real enough to be a genuine antagonist.
You will discover how to hold both: the Dark Lord as absolutely real within the dream and absolutely nothing in truth.
The Prince fights a real battle and there is no enemy.
This is not a contradiction, it is a mystery….
