There is a historical reason this articulation is becoming possible now, and not earlier in history.
We are living after:
- the collapse of literal belief
- the exposure of institutional religion
- the commodification of spirituality
- the saturation of myth through fiction and media
- the collapse of external, materialistic science
- the collapse of a society devoid of spirit

At the same time, people are starving for meaning that is:
- not authoritarian
- not purely psychological
- not anti-intellectual
- not divorced from daily life
- not materialistic
- not that of fundamentalist religion
This work answers this moment precisely because it does not ask people to believe in a story.
It asks them to recognize the story they are already living.
