The alchemist makes the Stone; the Mason places the Stone into the Temple. Book VIII transforms individual substance; Book IX integrates transformed people into sacred order. Grail → Stone → Temple → Crown. The Great Work does not end with a perfected individual. It asks how stable, awakened lives can become a dwelling place for the Kingdom.
