Historical Egypt concerns what can be responsibly known through sources and scholarship. Esoteric Egypt is the Egypt later Western initiates imagine as a primordial Temple of Wisdom. Both matter, but they are not interchangeable. Esoteric Egypt can be a powerful archetypal ancestor without becoming a claim of literal uninterrupted institutional descent.
