Rigor and Meaning
Early modern natural philosophy did not sharply separate alchemy, astrology, magic, and emerging science. Later, the paths diverged: science prioritized measurement, experiment, and mathematical law; occultism preserved symbolism, correspondence, qualitative meaning, and mind. The Royal Art need not collapse them together naïvely. Its future question is how scientific rigor and symbolic depth may remain in constructive conversation.
