Physicist Max Planck, Where is Science Going? (1932)
“Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve.”
Solomon Trismosin in Splendor Soliis writes.
“Study what thou art,
Whereof thou art a part.
What thou knowest of this art,
That is what thou truly art,
All that is without thee,
Also is within.”
"I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulates consciousness." _Max Planck, Quantum Physicist _
“My advice to you, whoever you may be, Oh you who desire to explore the Mysteries of Nature; if you do not discover within yourself that which you seek, neither will you find it without. If you ignore the excellence of your own house, how can you aspire to find excellence elsewhere? Within you is hidden the treasure of treasures. Oh Man! Know thyself, and you will know the universe and the Gods.” _ Epistle of Ali Poli _
"Look well for the golden Magnet. If thou findest it thou wouldst get rid of thy sorrows. Study well the law KNOW THYSELF, that thou may not be deceived any more. Unum sunt omnia, per quod omnia."
— Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer, aus dem 16ten und 17ten Jahrhundert
“Know Thyself”
Know Thyself
Know what you know, know what you don’t know, know what it is possible to know, know what is needed to know, know what you don’t know that you don’t know. Know your own ignorance, bias, blind spots, limitations. Know your own beliefs/definitions and whether they are actually true.
