The Temptation of Partial Mastery
The Wizard’s shadows are power, control, isolation, arrogance, manipulation, system-hoarding, magical paranoia, and knowledge used to avoid surrender. The deepest danger is knowing enough to mistake partial mastery for sovereignty. Faust dramatizes knowledge outrunning wisdom; Prometheus gives the ambiguous fire of civilization. The question is always whether power will illuminate and heal—or dominate and consume.
