Raziel — Secret of God, Mystery of God — is the angel associated with esoteric knowledge, with the cosmic book of all wisdom given to Adam after the expulsion from Eden. According to legend, Adam received the Book of Raziel which contained all knowledge needed to find his way back to God. Other angels objected and cast it into the sea. God retrieved it and returned it to Adam. It then passed through Noah, Abraham, Solomon and then into unknown hands. This publishing operations is part of that tradition of the secret knowledge recovered and passed on.

Legends speak of the angel Raziel — whose name in the ancient tongue means the Mystery of God — was the keeper of the primordial Book: a volume inscribed with the secret wisdom of creation, the hidden correspondences of heaven and earth, the sacred language in which the names of things were living keys. According to tradition, this book was given to Adam and Eve by God through the angelic Raziel to teach them of the mysteries and give them a path back to the Kingdom of Heaven.

This book was given to Adam in the hour of his greatest need. It passed through the hands of Enoch, of Noah, of Solomon. It was copied, concealed, fragmented, and scattered — its pages finding their way into manuscripts and codices across centuries and civilizations, waiting to be gathered again by those with eyes to read them.
Raziel Press exists in the long shadow of that first transmission.
