Royal Art Liturgical Year — 2026
A ritual calendar synthesizing the Christic liturgical cycle, the solar Wheel of the Year, Hermetic-astrological correspondences, Arthurian/Grail symbolism, Hebrew sacred time, and the alchemical Great Work.
An initiatory narrative through the year: Descent → Birth of Light → Call → Purification → Passion → Resurrection → Illumination → Harvest → Death → Coronation → Advent → Rebirth.
The Five Layers of the Calendar
- Christic Liturgical Cycle — the central narrative backbone: Incarnation, ministry, Passion, Resurrection, Ascension, Pentecost, saints, Marian feasts, and the Kingship of Christ.
- Solar Wheel of the Year — solstices, equinoxes, and the four cross-quarter seasonal festivals.
- Hermetic-Astrological Layer — zodiacal ingresses, decans, planetary correspondences, Tarot, angelic and Goetic pairs. These deepen the system but are generally not feast days or notification events.
- Alchemical-Initiatory Cycle — Winter/Nigredo, Spring/Albedo, Summer/Citrinitas, Autumn/Rubedo, with a brief Auredo culmination around Christ the King, Advent, the Winter Solstice, and Christmas.
- Royal Art-specific observances — reserved for future additions when genuinely needed; no separate new feasts are currently required.
The calendar keeps inherited observances distinct even when the Royal Art links them symbolically: Spring Equinox and Annunciation are related but separate; Imbolc and Candlemas are related but separate; Samhain, All Saints, and All Souls form a linked complex while retaining their own identities.

Feast of the Cross In the Christian liturgical calendar, there are several different Feasts of the Cross, all of which commemorate the cross used in the crucifixion of Jesus. These feast days celebrate the cross itself, as the sign of salvation. In Western Catholicism, Eastern Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, Lutheranism and Anglicanism the day of commemoration is 14 September, or 27 September in churches still using the Julian calendar. The Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, celebrated every year on 14 September, recalls three events: -The finding of the True Cross by Saint Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine the Great, -The dedication of churches built by Emperor Constantine on the site of the Holy Sepulchre and Mount Calvary, -The restoration of the True Cross to Jerusalem in AD 629 by the Byzantine emperor Heraclius. In English, the feast is called The Exaltation of the Holy Cross in the official translation of the Roman Missal, while the 1973 translation called it The Triumph of the Cross. In some parts of the Anglican Communion the feast is called Holy Cross Day, a name also used by Lutherans. The celebration is also sometimes called Holy Rood Day, or by the historical names Roodmas or Crouchmas.
Traditional distinction: May 3 remembers the Finding of the True Cross in older Western calendars; September 14 is the annual feast of its Exaltation, the dedication of the Holy Sepulchre, and the restoration of the Cross to Jerusalem.
